You are invited to join experienced tutor and artist, Nik Pollard, at Trymwood Studios for an exciting collage workshop where you will be encouraged to playfully explore this versatile way of making art In this workshop Nik will draw on his love and understanding of pattern, colour and composition to provide engaging demonstrations to the group. He will encourage you to explore this adaptable medium through a series of playful and experimental exercises. Workshop numbers are small so that Nik can respond to individual work, giving expert tuition where needed and helping you to build confidence in your own work. LOCATION: This one day workshop will be held in our beautiful gallery in Westbury on Trym, Bristol. DO I NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED ARTIST? Whether you are a complete beginner or want to improve your skills, you are very welcome to join us for this exciting workshop. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? All materials and equipment will be provided. Please wear clothes appropriate for making art. Please bring a packed lunch. Hot and cold drinks will be provided. YOUR TUTOR: Nik Pollard is an English artist based in Bristol, UK. His work is generated from sustained, direct observation with paintings and drawings often resolved in the field. A period of dedicated study at single or related locations is a necessary part of his process. Drawing from all the senses, he investigates the rhythms and characteristics of a location and its ecology, resulting in a sense of time and place. Working with a range of mediums, he focuses on the essential aspects of what it is that has drawn him to the subject.
