Exploring Mixed Media - Workshop

We are delighted to invite you to Trymwood Studios to investigate the creative potentials of working in mixed media. With Nik Pollard at hand to offer expert tuition, you will explore exciting combinations of materials, working to build dynamic compositions with layers, depth and texture in mark-making. Nik will lead group exercises and give demonstrations as well as working with individuals to develop unique work within the group. LOCATION: This one day workshop will be held in our beautiful gallery in Westbury on Trym, Bristol. DO I NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED ARTIST? Whether you are a complete beginner or want to improve your skills, you are very welcome to join us for this exciting workshop. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? All materials and equipment will be provided. Please wear clothes appropriate for making art. Please bring a packed lunch. Hot and cold drinks will be provided. TUTOR: Nik Pollard is an English artist based in Bristol, UK. His work is generated from sustained, direct observation with paintings and drawings often resolved in the field. A period of dedicated study at single or related locations is a necessary part of his process. Drawing from all the senses, he investigates the rhythms and characteristics of a location and its ecology, resulting in a sense of time and place. Working with a range of mediums, he focuses on the essential aspects of what it is that has drawn him to the subject.
