Join Nik Pollard for a morning drawing from life; ducks, geese, redshanks, flamingoes and much more, at Slimbridge Wetland Centre. Be inspired by the wetland environment as Nik encourages you, through drawing exercises and expert tuition, to develop your drawing skills in capturing movement and building an understanding of bird anatomy. LOCATION: This one day workshop will be held at Slimbridge Wetlands Centre, Gloucestershire. DO I NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED ARTIST? Whether you are a complete beginner or want to improve your skills, you are very welcome to join us for this exciting workshop. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? All materials and equipment will be provided. Please wear clothes appropriate for making art. Please bring a packed lunch. Hot and cold drinks will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Admission to Slimbridge Wetland Centre is not included in the workshop fee. His work is generated from sustained, direct observation with paintings and drawings often resolved in the field. A period of dedicated study at single or related locations is a necessary part of his process. Drawing from all the senses, he investigates the rhythms and characteristics of a location and its ecology, resulting in a sense of time and place. Working with a range of mediums, he focuses on the essential aspects of what it is that has drawn him to the subject.
