Join us at Trymwood Studios for a workshop dedicated to exploring drawing. Experienced tutor, Nik Pollard, will lead you through an array of different drawing exercises designed to build confidence and broaden your range of markmaking. You will explore the wonderful collection of drawing materials available at Trymwood Studios. Nik will bring his experience and love of drawing and the natural world to this workshop, providing engaging demonstrations and individual encouragement and tuition where needed. With natural subject matter in abundance at Trymwood, you will be encouraged to look carefully and respond through drawing. LOCATION: This one day workshop will be held in our beautiful gallery in Westbury on Trym, Bristol. DO I NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED ARTIST? Whether you are a complete beginner or want to improve your skills, you are very welcome to join us for this exciting workshop. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? All materials and equipment will be provided. Please wear clothes appropriate for making art. Please bring a packed lunch. Hot and cold drinks will be provided. YOUR TUTOR: Nik Pollard is an English artist based in Bristol, UK. His work is generated from sustained, direct observation with paintings and drawings often resolved in the field. A period of dedicated study at single or related locations is a necessary part of his process. Drawing from all the senses, he investigates the rhythms and characteristics of a location and its ecology, resulting in a sense of time and place. Working with a range of mediums, he focuses on the essential aspects of what it is that has drawn him to the subject.
