You are warmly invited to join experienced artist and teacher, Nik Pollard, RCA, for an exciting one-day watercolour workshop, en plein air, at Trymwood Studios and Westbury Wildlife Park, Bristol, to enjoy the glorious colours that autumn brings. This special one-day workshop is designed for individuals keen to improve and develop their studio art practice alongside their field-skills necessary for painting outside. Nik will introduce participants to the beautiful surroundings of Trymwood Studios and Westbury Wildlife Park, whilst supporting them to develop an observant and expressive response. LOCATION: This one day workshop will be held in our beautiful Studio / Gallery in Westbury on Trym, Bristol with visits to neighbouring Westbury Wildlife Park, for en plein air painting sessions (weather permitting). AGE GROUP: Adults DO I NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED ARTIST? This workshop is open to complete beginners and improvers. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Please bring a packed lunch. Hot and cold drinks will be provided. Materials and equipment will be provided. Participants who would like to bring their own art equipment are very welcome to do so. Please wear clothes appropriate for making art. It is greatly advisable that participants bring warm layers of clothing and a coat. YOUR TUTOR: Nik Pollard is an English artist based in Bristol, UK. His work is generated from sustained, direct observation with paintings and drawings often resolved in the field. A period of dedicated study at single or related locations is a necessary part of his process. Drawing from all the senses, he investigates the rhythms and characteristics of a location and its ecology, resulting in a sense of time and place. Working with a range of mediums, he focuses on the essential aspects of what it is that has drawn him to the subject.
